There is camping along the Arkansas River (mostly occupied by boaters during the summer months). We recommend the Fourmile Travel Management Area (along County RD. 375) where there are plenty of available FREE sites near any of the crags. See MAP

The BLM encourages ALL visitors to further minimize their impact by practicing the following "Leave No Trace" user ethics.
Please camp in designated sites only.
Avoid trampling vegetation or creating new tent sites or trails at existing camps.
Please pack out ALL your trash (and a little extra)!
Please use a camp stove whenever possible.
Avoid disturbing wildlife and other visitors.
Camping information for the Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Areas (Non-Fee Areas along the Arkansas River)
Colorado State Law requires the following:
A portable toilet device capable of carrying human waist out of the area.
A fire container or pan with at least a 2" rigid side. These fire containers must be elevated off the ground.
